Caledon Ontario. (February 14, 2014) The Mantella Autosport, No. 8 Powered by Spyder/Gulf lubricants Aston Martin Vantage is prepared for a two day test session at the famed Sebring Raceway in Florida this Feb 20-21.
“Preparation for these test days in Sebring started at the checkered flag in Daytona” says Mantella Autosport’s Race Engineer and Team Director, Andrew Wojteczko. “Daytona showed where we are strong, but also where we need to continue to improve. Back at the shop we are working hard to address these areas. The Sebring test will be the perfect opportunity to evaluate changes and adapt to the unique surface at this track, new to the CTSCC schedule this year”.
The test days will provide valuable track time for drivers Anthony Mantella and Mark Wilkins. Each session is an opportunity to improve car setup and ensure the drivers are able to get the most from the car. Being able to overlay data from two drivers in the same car is a huge asset. No question this will translate to a top performing car heading into the next race on the IMSA Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge Calendar: The Mobil 1 12 hours of Sebring, March 14th.
Team owner and driver Anthony Mantella can’t wait to get back to Florida. “I plan to continue to build on what I learned in Daytona.” Mantella had an impressive start to his season in Daytona where he raced from 26th to 12th place during his stint in the car. “It was good for my confidence. I felt great in the car and had a ton of fun. Likely the results of good coaching from Mark!!”
Mark Wilkins also had an impressive weekend in Daytona and is the proud owner of a new Rolex watch with his win at 24hrs of Daytona in the PC class with the CORE team.
